Retip and Repair

You can save 25% - 40% over the cost of new custom tooling by retipping worn out or broken router bits and cutters.

Just send us the tool, along with the wood sample you made when the tool was new.  (We suggest you cut and store samples from all new cutting tools.)  If a sample is not available, carefully draw the pattern and supply all critical dimensions as well as all information possible. (Wood type, RPM, type of machine, rotation etc.)

Upon inspection, we can recommend the proper action.  If the steel body of your tool has been badly damaged, bent or broken, we may suggest replacement rather than repair.  We will retip only those tools which can be returned to original (or better) performance levels.

Those tools that can be economically salvaged will be repaired using the same precision processes used by our new manufacturing department.

Average elapsed time, start to finish is 1-2 weeks.

Retip work in tools originally manufactured by TRUE CUT can be quoted rapidly, in advance, using our file drawings.

We will gladly service other brands, but cannot supply pricing information before inspecting the job first hand.

Inexpensive standard tooling can not be retipped economically.  We do not accept for repair:

  • Standard Router Bits

  • Saw blades

  • Drill Bits

  • Any low quality products

Many standard shaper cutters can, however, be salvaged.  Please inquire.
